Research Description

We have two active areas of research:
1) application of convolutional neural networks in identifying surgical landmarks and new innovative mobile technology that helps to improve patient education and compliance
2) investigating the effect of short, high-frequency ultrasound waves on cultured human retinal epithelial cells' response to doxorubicin and cisplatin.

Requirements to Participate

For project 1) above: a desire to learn coding and database management. If you are already familiar with Python and machine learning, that's a big plus.
For project 2) above: previous experience with cell culture, sterile techniques, and familiarity with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay

Time Commitment (3-4 hours/week per unit) i.e. Minimum 2, 3, or 4 units? 1 year or 2 years commitment?

Minimum 3 units and 1-year commitment.
